Well I had a problem the other week with the inserts coming out. So I went out in the garage to look and see what kind of tool I could find to help hold those darn inserts in the arrow better and here’s what I came up with. First, I thought about the file working the inside to roughen it up but thought that it just wasn’t enough. So I came up with the idea of all ideas. I found a tap I believe a ¼ 28 or 32 and threaded the inside. The treads just barely cut and I mean just barely the inside. It took just a real nice spiral out that I know the glue would have something to hold on to now. Then I glued the inserts in, went to bow that night and had no problems.

Good tip . One more thing I do is use a slow setting epoxy for carbon arrows ,and spin check the broadheads before the glue sets up . If it wobbles ,any times you just turn the insert 1/4 to 1/2 turn until it spins true .If they are really bad ,I have them recut , or square off the face of the insert.

Not a bad idea but I hope you only put a scratch in them. The insert end in carbon arrows seem to be the weak spot. I use a .270 cal bronze brush to rough up my arrows.

I usually just use a Q-tip and swab the end with some Alcohol .
