There was a good foot of snow at Cotton Road and I believe there are a lot of drifts. I would bring the skies.

Skiis on the Shappell,, LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Surely you gest. Unless you have a machine or quad, you're gonna a helicopter to drop you on your spot. I left the pond at 10am yesterday and some of the drifts were 2-3 feet high and 10 inches of snow everywhere there wasn't a drift. I can't imagine how much snow is on there now.

My "skis" are 3/4 conduit mounted on a frame...It has about 16" of clearance. ;) I've tried using the shappell as a snow plow before, not a fun time!!!!
Looks like I'm not going till tuesday anyways.....Hopefully some trails will be beaten down by then.

I wasa out at Fairhaven yesterday...We packed up and came in at about 3:30 or so and there were drifts in the 3-4 foot range...I saw numerus people on atv's that were getting stuck... I would have to agree that and airlift in would be the best bet lmao

After yesterday. I wouldn't even think about going without the skis, and even then I'd wait out the snow, it's hell trying to move around.

I had my shappell out yesterday. No skis. Just a plow. It was REAL rough.
I made a few moves. Once I came up witht he idea of moving it with out collapsing it. I took about 15 steps and couldn't go any further. I looked inside the shanty and realized I forgot to shut the trap doors on the floor. It was picking up snow like a zamboni. (A zamboni is the machine they use to use at Joe Louis to clear the surface of the ice, back in thedays of hockey  ). I ended up with 2 feet of snow inside the shanty. I had to use my scoop as a shhovel to shovel out the inside of the shanty.
Next time it is snowing out there like that, I am leaving the shanty at home and only taking my jr sled and the very basics.

Salmonslammer...do you have a picture of your "skis"...after using my Clam 5600 as a plow for a couple hundred yards this afternoon, I can see how a little ground clearance would be nice!

SS, "after-market" skiis would be the only way to go, I hope 16" is enough clearance for ya.

I hope 16" is enough clearance for ya.
Yeah, me too!! The 1st set I made only had about 6" of clearance!! :bash: Had to fire the designer on that one!!
Sorry, don't have a digi..........yet. Pretty much a 1x6 frame with some eyebolts for the tie down rigging. I used regular conduit hardware to hook up the skis and keep them in place with thumbscrews that I tapped. Runs real smooth on the ice!!!!
