Talked to a couple of guy at crocker dnr they said the ice blew out again at the point and the guys were going over the rocks to gain access into beacons cove couldnt see that far from shore so I cant confirm that.

We fished Beacons Cove for about 8 hours today. We caught a few small fish and a couple decent ones. There were quite a few fish on the Vexilar, but they were tight lipped. The water is pretty dirty, only about a foot of visabilty on the camera. The ice blew out while we were in there, checked if we could get around the rocks but there was water everywhere. Not sure if it's worth the trip even if you can get in.

It not worth floating your cap, plus the dnr will get you if you trepass.. That spot drys up as soon as the lake freeze. I won't waste your time, I can fish there by driving in and I can tell you it's pretty dead... Unless you like little fish....:fish:

 I fished Beacons Cove marina on Sat. morn, until close to 10am,, there was ice as far as you could see. Are you saying the ice blew outta the launch area???

I crossed the rocks last year and got a ticket....WATCH IT. That marina is strict they called in the DNR and they ticketed 30 people for crossing the rocks.

I drove through Crocker around noonish and noticed cars and trucks parked and the end of Beacons Cove Marina, with guys climbing up, down, all around those rocks,, it also looked like there was ice as far as you could see,, even past the pressure crack.

I'm sure it is ice as far as the eye can see, but the ice 30' in front of Beacon Cove is only a day old, and the ice past that was slush/2" 2 days ago. If someone didn't know better they could walk right 0nto some very thin ice covered up by snow. I'm as dumb as they come when it comes to pushing the limits, but there's no way I'd go out past Beacon Coves rocks for a while.

That was probably Michigan Marine Salvage still trying to get the two snowmobiles out of the water that went in Saturday night. They were trying Sunday evening but it appears they quit at dusk.
