today's extra bad news followed by decent news.

well i headed out to burton to pic up a duck huntin buddy to hit greens lake in clarkston... all was well, till we unloaded the truck and my buddy smashed my rear window on my jimmy :( :( i have abosolutely no rear window... just when u think things are at its worst in life, they just get even worse.

well at least we caught plenty of slobby fish today. here it is...
set one tip up as soon as we got out... setting another not 5 mins on the ice and the first flag hits... my buddy lands a slob of a 28 in northern... real gerthy too! well we go back to settin the second tip up, and another flag! well it was big, i know cuz i set the hook... well she sliced my lince and got the hook and the sucker. well we got two tip ups in the water and were settin our other buddies not 15 mins from the first flag we got for the day... and my flag goes again! well this time i had her good. landed my 28 incher! woth exactly the same length northern, and my first fish on a tip up.

then we get the shanties set up and drop the camera down the hole... set our bait and fix the cam on the bait,... only to see a school of about 50 bluegill and a select bunch of crappie commin in hard and fast at our bait. well i got the lucky first bite and let me tell u! they are a hella lot bigger in person then that stupid cam! we didnt not ice a single fish that was smaller than my hand today... every thing we kept, outa about 30 some odd gills was at least the size of a normal grown mans hand! we had a good day on the ice... bad day other wise... ill get pics up asap.

guys dont get ur hopes up... greenS not green, lake is a private lake that only the home owners can access... u have to have a key to get into the gate, or be in the know... same w/ the excelent duck hunting it provides...im lucky enough to be in the know, and hopefuly ill get a honorary key one day... i couldnt go back this morning if i wanted cuz i wont have my buddy.

unless my little cousin comes knockin on my door and loads up his truck, i realy cant/dont feel like gettin out today... w/ the window woahs, i gotta get to finding some one to fix it for me :( let me know how the clearity is out there.

Neil I had an old beater Jimmy and lost my back window due to bored kids with a bb gun. Anyhow the window was expensive. I didn't feel like putting in the money for a new window so I went and got some plexiglas, cut it to size and bolted it in using the same hardware left on the window. It held up and worked fine until I sold it a year later. You can cut the plexiglas with a table saw by exposing the blade to the thickness of the plexiglas and cutting backwards or with the back side of the blade.

I broke the back window on the cap of my pickup. They wanted like $350 just for the glass. Bought a 4x8 sheet of Lexan for around $200 and cut it our with a dremil. Have plenty left over if you want to cut off a hunk. I'm in the Sterling Heights area. Going fishing now, but will be back later this afternoon.

You might want to give RPM Auto up in flint a call, they are a salvage yard. Someone busted my rear window out in my summit....Auto glass place wanted almost 400 for a new one....I got a used one for 100 from them and put it in myself...wasn't too hard.

hey there's something flint is good for...if you can't get it at RPM there's 100 other places within a mile that can find any part for any make and model. The massive junkyards are quite scenic from the highway :)

ps this sounds like that lake that Gibson and Rosema over stocked. Whos your buddy in Burton, I live close to burton, but won't admit to living in Burtucky :) wasnt michiduck was it, he don't ice fish?

found the glass used for 375 its pricey cuz its deep tint 2 door and defroster... but its better than the 874.99 we got qoted for installed new... a week later. i got a buisy day ahead of me. u guys go catch some fish!
