Hit the ice about 3:30p.m. and fished until dark. Was about 3/4 mile out in front of Bud's. Ice is a good 6-8 inches where I was. They are parking cars about 100 yards out from the launch already. Water clarity is getting better. I was in five feet of water and could barely see my jig on the bottom. Decent schools coming through every 20 minutes or so. Some jumbos hugging the bottom but mostly 4-6 inchers. Caught around 10 on a fire tiger pattern willow leaf with waxies and none on wigglers. Tried a jigging rap and Ken's, but they seemed a bit finicky for those. Jigging very lightly or not at all was the key to getting them to bite. Shouldn't be long before the water in that area is settled down enough to start spearing the ones that just want to be entertained by the jig!
