Fished off Crocker DNR launch from about 10AM to 2PM today. Plenty of people out. Ice was 6-7" all the way out just past the breakwater to the north. Beyond that it was new ice and appeared unsafe.

Many people were fishing in the Marina next door to the north (accessed from the launch site by walking around the point). Reports were good from there this morning with a couple of people reporting catching between 75 and 100 fish - a lot of sorting needed since typically folks were leaving with between 6 - 12 keepers.

I fished out about 400 yards out from the launch (south of the Marina) in 8 fow about 20 yards from the breakwater. Between me and my buddy we caught about 40 fish and kept only four. Fishing slowed down significantly after noon.

Water clarity was not too great so the Vexilar was helpful. Could only see about 2 feet down.

i stopped by there yesterday and talked to a couple of guys coming in. there was a HUGE ice flow that blew out (past the breakwall) and supposidly there were a couple guys with a snowmobile spotted going out that direction earlier that morning:yikes: . hope they made it. one guy came in with 10 or so small perch and said that is pretty mush all it has been in that area for the last few days. he was in the protected area inside the breakwall. water was dirty there so i am assuming that cotton road and ginos will be the same.
