I live near Cotton Road, and hope to be on the ice near Brandenberg this weekend. Last Monday in front of my house there was about 2.5 - 3.0 inches of ice. This morning there was still a little open water out there. Anyway, the ice is USUALLY safe at Cotton Rd. before Brandenberg and it should be fishable this weekend by my guess. I would ALWAYS take a spud and hit as you go this far into "first" ice. <----<<<

Are you going to go, even with these hard winds predicted? Thanks :yikes:

The wind will be a little strong, but this is a wierd storm, the wind will be blowing East- Northeast. No chance of the ice there blowing out with that wind. I'll be out just south of Cotton Rd. out of a buddy's house. Need to bring the spikes to anchor down the shanty, then again with the snow on the ice should be able to pack her down pretty good. Good luck, talked to him earlier today, he caught 2 this morning water is still really dirty.
