Houghton Lake.

If not there, I'd try Little Bay de Noc -- Not exactly inland, but in the summer time its manageable even for small boats, especially north of Gladstone.

Lake Charlevouix

and

Hubbard Lake are two very good inland walleye lakes.

As well as North and South Manistique lakes in Curtis.

Lake Leelanau, but leave your Saginaw Bay and Lake Erie gear at home. Bring your bottom bouncers and crawler harnesses. Hammered gold and silver blades with either red or salmon colored beads work best. The fish tend to binge on little orange colored crayfish in the summer. You must imitate these crayfish to have much success. Fish can be found in all depths of water.

Sixshooter,

I have a friend that keeps a boat on Lake Charlevoix. I have never fished it for anything, let alone walleyes, however, I would like to learn. Here are a few basic questions for you:

1) When is the peak time?
2) Where would you start looking? (in general)
3) Best methods? (in general)

Thank you in advance for your help. I may make a trip or two up there this summer, and would like to have a clue where to start.
