Any Saginaw River reports?

I haven't seen any reports from the z-bridge area. Is there ice? Is it safe? How’s the fishing been this year?

Thinking about going this weekend but I hope for a good report before i make the 45 min drive.

Went over the bridge friday night and it looked like open water

The river has been runnin like a raped ape since the rain and heavy run off. Even when it does freeze going to be awile before the water clears up

The river is starting to freeze over, alot of ice chunks flowing down it yestrday evening by ojibway. Last night comming back home went over by wilkes park, looked like it had a light skim of ice on it in spots.

Thanks for the reports guys. Keep the information coming and maybe we can plan an outing there in the next few weeks. Let’s hope that the river flow slows down so we can get our baits to the bottom once the ice is safe for fishing.

It will freeze over pretty soon give it another week atleast, but when it does harden up it will be a HASLE in the Bay City area. All of the ice chunks and broken ice is froze up and down the whole river. It is impossible to find a spot for a shanty yet alone get one out there (it looks like mars or something). Maybe some snow will help but the shiver on the River will be hurt again

The Shiver will be kickin' again this year ! Everyone will be forced to fish the Bay where the bigger fish are anyway, lot's of ice out there. Getting better everyday. :) I can see a 13lb'er taking it this year ! ;) Yeah, Baby !!! :fish:

How's the ice on Saginaw? I have one weekend set aside to come in for the Shiver..may wait til next weekend. Wondering how the currrent is too.

here our some pics. from Jan 19th (still open water in spots) I have not seen a soul on the river yet in Bay City so I would wait till next week for sure.
