I fished sunday morning until about noon and ended up with 2 legal walleye 151/2" and 17". I also had one northern 28". I thought it was kind of slow overall though. There is plenty of ice now but the water seemed to be a little murky to me compared to what I have been seeing.
I caught all 3 of the fish on tip-ups, they seem to be producing the most fish for me lately.

Good Fishing and Good Luck

Tim , a couple of eater eyes and a keeper northern isn't too bad for Hardy. I've been skunked a few times there. I can't think of a better place to get skunked tho'. It is my favorite local body of water to fish. ( when the cigarette and scarob boaters aren't running off the fishermen) You probably know what I'm talking about. I'm headed to hardy this weekend. Will be fishing from Reynolds to BB park. Maybe we'll see ya. Good Luck, Jim

Went out from Big Bend this am. Got skunked :( .

You are right the water was VERY murky. The ice is soming along quite well though. Just before the warm up and rain, we had just 3" in the spot I have been going. This morning the ice was pushing 6.5" in the same spot (within 10 yards). There is a pretty good current down there though. I dropped a small jig down (was marking something halfway down) and the jig would not stay within my cone.

Fished Hardy on Sunday. Two words. Slow and Cold. Caught two small pike and four small walleye. I'm talking I wouldn't keep perch that size. I was amazed they could swallow a 3" shiner. There were several other fishermen out there who seemed to be skunked. It appears that first ice was the ticket around Big Bend.:(

Schaaed 1 ,
Yes, that was my group a week or so ago. I think you were talking to my Buddy's son. The ice has improved, but the fishing has not.

Thought that was probably your group. Luckily I have another spot that I normally go to ... now that the ice is getting better. I might venture over that way this weekend. I do not like to go there too early in the season ... too long of a walk and it is across to the other side of the pond. It is usually good mid to late in the season.
