Looking for current conditions on Muskegon and White Lakes as I'm itching to get after some perch. Heard that there were several groups fishing the east 1/2 of White Lake this morning. Anyone have a report on Muskegon Lake? Saw in the Sunday paper that a 5 lb Brown was caught in Great Lakes Marina during the week off of a dock on waxies!! Double pectoral clip - possibly a WI fish!!

I'll be out later in the week and will be looking for reports up until then. I will report anything I find out scouting the spots later this week.

Thanks in advance for any reports. :D :D :help:

Checked out Muskegon Lake - from shore today.

Saw a few shantys in Snug Harbor and that was it....but I have good news, there was ice in the channel between Muskegon Lake and Lake MI and the south breakwater was iced in completely.

For the most part Muskegon Lake has ice, but with the snow today I think that most everyone stayed off. I will be looking to fish either Muskegon or White Lake probably Thursday. Would like to go for perch, but tip ups for pike cannot be ruled out.

Good luck and be safe!

This is a report from 1-17-05. A good friend of mine emailed this to me in the afternoon, not sure what time of day he was there... "Rode along the N. shore of Musk. Lake this afternoon. Seen three walkout shanties @ Second street and over two dozen shanties and a couple of quads on snug harbor( N.W. end of lake ). "

On Sunday, the 15th, there was 2" of ice on 2nd St. and 5" of ice on Snug. By Saturday you should have free run of the lake. As you know its making ice. Be careful, the tug boat is keeping a lane open.

Just took a ride around the south side of the lake. Could see no one fishing.
Stopped at bait shop by the old carferry dock and talked with Bill. He figures there's 4 to 5 inches over most of the lake by now. Probably won't be anyone out fishing till Thurs. with this storm coming in tonight and tomorrow. Should be plenty of good ice for the weekend. Just remember Andrie is keeping the shipping lane open down the middle of the lake all winter. :yikes:
