The ice was solid with about 6 inches of clear hard ice. Fished across the east bay across from the boat launch and to the right in about 16 FOW. Marked fish and sat on em to catch about 25-30 gills for our group of three guys. Maybe 3-4 keepers...Had three tip-ups out all day and only had 3 flags go up, but no takers....Not much going on at Chemung, we fished from about 8:30 till noon-ish. Everybody I talked too was catching dink gills  Better than being at home I guess...That lake has really taken a turn in the past couple years...and not a good one. Good to see you again Greeneman!

There was a couple shanties working right out in front of the boat launch about 50 yards, and most of the guys were straight across from the boat launch and to the right a little bit. There is a path that leads from the parking lot to the west and if you were to take that path straight out from there towards the point on the North shore, Greeneman ventured over there in the 25 FOW channel area to that point, and worked all over pucnhing holes. He had constant bites, but nothing big enough to take the whole bait. Just pecking at it. Now there was a guy on a mission walking across the lake on the horizon far to the west, but have no clue what he was doing?? Hope that helps

I find my camera helps when I fish that lake. Without it, very few keepers. With it, a bunch more. I have seen a larger gill take my bait and I never would have known unless I was watching it. Still fishing works a little better for me on most inland lakes. So I watch and then set the hook and usually have good sucess. They might be huddled up dedp though because its really cold .
