went for a ride on higgins from the north state park; 6" of ice in 50' of water. going south along the west shore legion area just south of north state park; 5.5" ice in48' fow. going south to big creek 5" of ice 45' fow. west launch 4.5" of ice in 75' fow. higgins is ready for fishing the dropoff areas, should be ready next weekend for quads and snowmobiles for those who go to sunken is., or deeper water.last nite was the first nite guys were going for smelt. havn't heard any reports. b.b.
