Higgins lake Ice?

Hi I was just wondering how much ice is on higgins lake now. I heard people were going out with life jackets on to fish thats to extrem for me. I like to stay dry. I would appreciate the any input thanks.

Today I went out on Higgins and the north and west side is still open in spots. I fished the south side by the state park and had no luck. There is about 6 inches of good ice. Is anyone catching anything on higgins?
