Hey guys,

I'm new to your site but in the desperate need to catch some fish. Used to live in WI and could ice fish whenever I wanted. Moved to Ohio last year and didn't get out much last year. This year we have very little ice so I was thinking about heading your way and fish on Sunday/Monday.

Right now I'm targeting Hillsdale or Oakland counties. Was wondering how the ice conditions are or will be? Also some decent lakes to try? Will probably throw a few tip-ups out and be jigging for panfish.

Any help that you guys can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Sure, load up the boat and head on up!!!

Seriously though, I'd suggest that you hold off a bit on a trip. We've been melting for a week and it's raining with a forecast high of 47 and a low of 46 today.

I wouldn't suggest coming up, right now, unless you plan to fish northern MI or the UP.

It seems that there is 5 plus inches of ice in a line north of Mt. Pleasant or so. That should still be good this weekend, especially since the temp will plumment tommorrow after noon and firm things up on Friday. I know the GR area to the south has crappy ice right now, if any at all.
