Flasher Question

Hi Everyone,

Looking for some of your expertise. I have an old Shakespeare Flasher that I wanted to try and use this year for ice fishing. It has one dial on it that turns it on and off and also serves as the gain. I tried it once for a couple minutes but I couldn't get it to read anything. Does it take a while for these things to warm up? It has basically never been used so I don't think anything is broken. Could it be that it was to cold for it to work? Any input at all is much appreciated.

Some older flashers had vacuum tubes, so could take a while, maybe 30sec, to warm up. Those would be from the 60's or before.
