Fishing Erie in Spring

Looking for tips for fishing erie around Brest Bay,La Plaisance, it a jig or trolling
bite?
What month does it start to get going.

I fished it last April when I could get out in a 16' deep v. Really rough spring for waves it seemed like. Found the best trolling bite to be in the shallows (6'-10') around Luna Pier/Bolles Harbor. Some boats were having some success jigging out towards the dumping grounds off the Maumee River Channel. Not a lot of fish but the ones I did get were all much bigger than the typical summer Lk. Erie walleye. Not a lot of boats out there either. Plenty of room makes it so much better.
