View Full Version : Crappie lures
What is everyone's favorite lure for crappie(type of jammin jigs, swedish pimple, etc)? And, what do you bait it with?
Oh yeah. I was also wondering, if jammin jigs isnt your favorite lure for crappie, which jammin jig would you think is the best for crappie?

I like a splitshot, #16 treble hook and a minnow.
I love to fish live bait!

I like to use a small Lindy Fat boy with a blue glow tipped with a minnow.
This year I've been using a blue forage minnow that glows tipped with a minnow with some success
I prefer the good old plain white swedish pimple tipped w/ a minnow

JamminJigs orange bobber fry with a Gulp tail during the day followed by a #2 jigging rap juiced up and a glow tail that I applied at night. Fiddled with the micro Rat-L-Traps last year and they worked as did Cicadas. Any of the JamminJigs horizontal baits work well. Don't seem to do as well with a vertical bait on crappies, save the pimple types for perch.

I like using Demon Glows in 1/8 and 1/16 (I think) oz. Colors green and orange tipped with a minnow.
I really want to try jiggin' Raps, but man those things don't come cheap!!

I make my own crappie jigs and spinners that I tear them up with.

Demon Glow 1/8 oz. tipped with a minnow if they are aggressive or a moonglow and a couple of spikes or waxworms if they're not. I bought a bunch of Jammin Jigs but haven't tried them yet. I killed them this evening on a white moonglow and spikes. The important thing is that the jig holds it's glow-most of them don't.
