I mght get this Aqua Vu Mo-pod (tripod) underwater camer from cabelas and i was wondring if it was worth the $100 price tag. here is some info on it and if youwant a pc no proble shoudnt take but a minute... YEA aaa can you use these underwater cameras during te summer like looking for gills or bass and wha not?????

FACTS:Seeing the big picture under the ice just became easier. The Mo-Pod (Motorized Ice Pod) gives you a continuous and complete 360° viewing of everything that's underneath your hole, from your lure to fish and structure. By positioning the Mo-Pod over a hole and gripping the camera cable, you can rotate the camera underwater. A wireless remote control with 100-foot range allows you to rotate the camera left or right with the touch of a button and without cable twist. Aqua-Vu's 92° camera angle, combined with the Mo-Pod's 340° rotation, delivers a 360° picture of the world under the ice. And you get hands-free operation, since the small remote can be clipped to a jacket zipper or ice rod. It runs off eight AAA batteries (not included) or your Aqua-Vu's 12-volt battery.

GOOD/BAD?

yes you can use it any time as long as the water is clear. and the waves arent to big to bounce you up and down all the time or attach it a anchor rope for more stability!!!

I cannot attest as to how good that camera is (I think "Southend" has one), but I don't see any reason why you ccouldn't use it any time of the year...

I bought a night security camera (Sony brand) with a 60foot cable off of E-Bay for 45.00 and a small 12 volt B/W TV from Mennards for 12.00 and made one. I have used it a lot thru the ice and in the summer.

Once in a while you can but you spend more time watching the tv than fishing, but it is sure is interesting to see what is down there. The part I like is you can see the fish when it bites.

A friend of mine who owns a bait shop and is a VERY experienced fisherman says he would take his camera over a vex any day of the week. Now I fish with two guys with vex's all the time, and I'm a big believer. But hearing that from someone with that much experience carried quite a bit of weight. I've been considering one of the units from Harbor Freight pretty seriously.

Do most cameras have lights on them? Since, I don't think they could go very far down untill it was to dark..
