Watching the video in another thread about the hali jig the camera shows an attractor with a short lead and the trigger jig at the bottom. How many of you use this system in their ice fishing?

I have the in-fisherman videos and they promote the same thing.

What are your feelings on this? Have you tried it for gills, crappies, etc?

9mm, not so good for gills and craps, the rig is more of a search lure not to say it wont work cuz one never knows. I use that rig in deep water cuz it fishes heavy and I can get down fast plus it shows up on the electronics better. It wont hurt to try, let us know how it pans out.

good search tactic for crappie too. Spoon dropper rigs are popular in other parts of the country. try a small buckshot spoon, take the hook off and tie a 12-24inch leader off the bottom to a smaller offering, #16 treble or tiny jig. You can draw in fish not on the screen yet, and once you see them then set up camp and finesse them into the shanty.
