"I posted these in a couple of other forums on this board. This might help some of you that are without ice.....Or it might drive you over the edge. The Hali was tipped with waxworms and most of the fish were not agressive. I caught about 80 perch out of this one hole in under 3 hours. If it were not for the camera, I would not have caught even 1/4 of them. With the camera I knew exactly when to set the hook and how to work the jig. The camera is a Marcum VS500."

These are big files (3mb+ I think), so you may have to save them to view them depending on your connection.

Cool videos...I got to figure out a way to connect my underwater camera to my video camera. The camera cable on my underwater camera is hardwired into the monitor.

That's the problem with the store bought cameras. A couple of years ago I bought a kit and put one together myself for about $125. You could do anything you wanted with the signal. I just plugged it into a cheap little $15 b/w tv but you could just as well run it into a video camera.

John I think I remember seeing the pics of your camera a couple of years ago on this site. Looked good and you can't beat the price!

Bluedevil,

here ya go :

That's a link to the Lunkercam web site. They're very easy to build and they work great. I used it for a couple of seasons and just decided to get rid of it because I'd rather have a Vex instead. It was a fun little project though. If you do decide to try it and run into any difficulties, drop me a line and I'll be glad to help you out wherever I can.

I must admit, those are some sweet vids! However, I'm gonna have to go against the grain here. I can see using a cam to see what's going on for interest's sake, but I should hope that one would not need a cam to catch over 20 perch. I think that takes a little too much sport out of it.
I'm not a purist by any means, (I'll own a vex as soon as I can afford one.) but I don't see a need to be that far on top of things. If they don't bite, they don't bite. It's not always a contest out there.

Just my .02...Sid

Pretty cool to be able to see how it all happens.. Thanks for the vids. You can almost hear the fish talking... "Hey, where the heck is Charlie?? He was here and then POOF - he was gone!"

Sorry, I meant to ask, what was the average size? All but 1 looked pretty small.

answer to some PMs and Questions

First it is not my video, it is from another ice fishing board. There is not much ice around here for me to film anything (yet)

I have a alantis sportscam auw-502 underwater camera, I think this is the same one for $99 at harbor frieght. (I paid $149 at bass pro shop online in the summer)

Anyways on the back of the montior (my monitor looks just like the one at harbor freight and NOT like the one in my Sig.) there is a video in and a video out and a spot to add another underwater camera. Just plug a camcorder into the video out (normal RC jack) and it records what the camera sees. If you have a digital or mini DV you upload you video edit it right on the computer and share with everyone. Once I go out I will post my video.
