Well, I am on my way out the door to church, and I will be praying hard for slick roads. If school is called off, I am planning on hopping in the Subaru, locking in the 4 wheel drive, and very cautiously making my way out to a private lake less than 10 miles north of Great Lakes Crossing, what do you guys think? Will it be safe? I will stick to the shallows, and check periodically.

Now, pray for snow ;).

James,
I keep telling my brother this but I highly doubt your not going to have school. Were barely getting any snow here and ice isn't even suppose to hit us til later. Take it from someone who was there many times while in high school.

I'll pray you get your wish but I don't think you will have safe ice either:(

Believe me, the ice will NOT be safe by tomorrow !

I've got to agree with Mike on this one..... PATIENCE.

I can about guarentee you there won't be any safe ice tomorrow. This snow is going to make it even longer until we can fish. Darn white chit keeps falling and it may be a long while til we get safe ice. A few people fell in down by where I live last week, so you had better do what was said earlier "go to church and pray for patience." I sure would hate to hear a story like I heard last week. We don't need to lose any fellow fisherman to crappy ice and cold waters. Good luck when you do make it out though.
