Recieved new Vex today

Recieved my new Vexilar today so those walleyes better watch out this weekend up north.....will have to head up and brake it in to find out any differences from the old one....besides the zoom of the fl-18 should be virtualy the same as my old one.........and man I loved that one!!

Well Kevin you had the Hondex, your going to crap your bibs when you see how the new flasher works, No more hinding spots for fish that baby will pick them up inches off the bottom. Good fishing to you my friend.

Should be a good weekend to practice up on it....will be up there trying to do a little gill action with my son...he has never gill fished before...mostly strictly walleyes up there...should be fun! will have the wife and bro-in law coming also...just got the word!

I bought the FL-18 Ultra Pack, dual transducer model. I figured that's why we don't have any fishable ice down here yet.

I can't wait to use it.

Well I'm totally convinced that you'll love the FL-18. It's amazing how well it works and they even say it will show a walleye on bottom at 40 mph in your boat if you have it on bottom lock. I got my Vex last year and have had a blast with it. I bet since I bought it my success has multiplied by ten times. One of the best investments and ice fisherman will ever make is the Vex! Heck they should pay me for all the advertising I do on this site. LOL!!!!!! Take care all and have a great 2005 season.

I want to know how it will work on the boat compared to the "regular" fish finders

I hear they work great on a boat. I guess they have some attachments that make it easy to hook to your boat. I can't say for sure cause I don't own a boat. That will have to be my next fishing purchase. A nice new bass tracker.

It works like a charm on a boat. I use mine on the front of my Lund all summer. The transducer clamps to the trolling motor. I only use it at slow speeds, so I don't know how it would do on plane. I grew up with a GREEN BOX, so flashers are preferable to me, when I really need to know what's down there. Capnhook
