Walled Lake and Novi area bait shops?

I will be fishing on Walled Lake tommorrow and I was wondering if anyone knew of any bait shops in the area?

Also, if anyone has fished or been on the lake and could offer me any pointers I would really appreciate it, since I have never fished here before.

Hows the ice?
what bait would you recommend?

Theres a bait shop on Glengary just east of Benstein Rd. on the left hand side. It used to be called Brewers' not sure if it still is. As far as pointers go for fishing Walled Lake,,,,,, do yourself a favor and stay home. There used to be some "decent" pike in there, just don't know what happened to them. You can catch as many dinky perch as you want,, you don't even need bait, theres so many down there, they "lasso" themselves in your line. Sometimes you can get into some decent crappie after dark, 8 to 9"ers, but they're few and far between. I just plain stopped fishing there,, just wasn't worth it.

I agree, tons of dinky perch. I would suggest Wolverine instead. I haven't been out yet this year, so I don't know about the ice. I did get into some decent crappies and gills there. I have even caught some decent largemouths. The public access is throught he police station. You can also hit Gander Mountain now for bait. Right at 96 and Novi Rd.

the store on glengary is called cast and blast outfitters.they have a website too. you can also get bait at gander mountain in the west oaks shopping plaza off novi road at i-96. walled lake has pike and plenty of them. park on the north shore at the mercer beach or at the defunct boathouse resteraunt next store . find the dropoff in about 10-12 feet of water. about 100 yards out right off the resteraunt building or lined up with their parking lot.fish a shiner minnow ahd jig it right over the weed tops at dusk.don't let the pike rip it out of your hand.the ice there is the safest in oakland county. trust me i fished it almost 20 years.
