Hall lake is a pretty popular spot for both species, they seem to do fairly well out there. Fish Lake is another good all around choice. You can find a decent mess of fish in pretty much all of the lakes in the area. Check in at Cappons or Gilletes and they should be able to tell you where the hot bite is at.

It's good to hear smoeone else has fished Fish Lake. I've only been there during soft water season but never on the ice. In my boat I've fished mostly right off the north side of the point which is on your right as you come out of the channel into the lake. I've also caught a few pike directly across the lake from the channel on a point that has a lot of reeds. Would you mind sharing any tips for that lake? The steep drop-offs all around make it a little hard to stay in the right depth zone. Maybe that's why ice time is a little beter than the boat. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I've only fished Fish Lake a handful of times. In the summer we usually just troll the weedlines and dropoffs and pickup quite a few bass and pike. In the winter I've done reasonably well following the crowds wherever they happen to be at the time. Some friends of mine have done real well for perch on the south end but unfortunately I wasn't with them so I don't know exactly where.

Thanks for the information. I talked to a guy here at work who fishes there and he said that another good spot is near the north end. Go out the channel, make a left, stay near the left shore until you hit the last point before the big sand cove by the north island. Crappies and gills.
Good luck this winter!

Dave Fished the robbins bay channels only once this year. Gillettes said they were catching good fish out there but it looks like a morning bite.

Got a chance to fish Fish lake last summer, did very well on specs on the opposite side of the launch. There is a point out there with some weeds not to sure if that would be a spot to hit in the winter or not, lost a huge perch out there, had him eat a rattle trap.:fish:
