Bought a home in Flushing this summer, so this is my first winter out this way. Just wondering if there is anywhere in this area that offers decent ice-fishing, or do I have to go to all my old haunts down in Oakland County. Just tryin to find somewhere nearby that I can hit after work for a few hours in the evening. Anyone know any spots I would greatly appreciate it.

OJ - There are many lakes in the Fenton area that offer good ice fishing. Depending on the Species You would like to take, there's Bluegill, Crappie, Walleye and Northerns. The Saginaw River is only 25 minutes to the North, plus there are some good Lakes to the East in the Lapeer area. A lifelong Flushing resident, I've likely fished 'Em all atleast once. Don't know how close You are to the Flint River, but it hosts a great Walleye run in the Spring and fantastic Smallmouth action. PM Me if You have any questions - Bob WC#253.
