Fished Kent from 11:30 am to 5 pm. We had fun but caught nothing but dink perch. I guess that's no worse than what I'm hearing from the big lake so far. We fished from the west boat lauch out a ways in 30' of water. Ice was about 6"

Did get to test a few new toys out however.

The new Vex in action. These are great fishing machines and worth the cost. Pretty sensitive when you can see your jig and the jigs next to you going down to the bottom. Very exciting when you see the nice green lines come down towards your jig.

We also had a 2.5 inch LCD TV going all day in the shanty.

The boys fishing:

The big disappointment was the new 18 volt Craftsman drill. Very lame in drilling through just 6" of ice. I'll stick to my 12 volt DeWalt with the low torque setting. It will just about take your arm off which is more than I can say for the Craftsman.

I'm glad to see your research paid off! Even if all you got were dinks, you guys had a good time. It doesn't get any better than that!

Those are the memories that last a lifetime fish or no fish, just dad fishing with the boys. :)

I believe I can see your jig on the vex, just off the bottom there. LOL!

You can see your jig with a Vex. It's pretty incredible.

BTW all the perch today came on minnows. I tried to use some of the biggest minnows in the bucket hoping they would produce a keeper fish but they did not.

You would think with a known predator fish population in Kensington that these perch would get thinned a bit and there would be some bigger ones in there. The biggest one we got today was about 7"
