thought id give people an update of some mid michigan area ice fishin. been out the past two days on 3 different area lakes all with good 5-6 inch ice. have targeted both crappie and gills. lots of fish on the bite, prolly having to do with the full moon, high pressure, and incoming warm front. we have been using waxies and spikes on the gils with good success and limited success on soft plastics. crappie have been hitting on plain treble hooks tipped with minnows so far this year but yet to find any decent size specs to speak of. the gill lakes targeted have ranged from 4-15 foot in depth all over muck bottoms. our crappie lake was over 17 fow with a much harder and rcoky bottom. any other guys from the area got any good news!!
