Me, my brother and Huntin Horseman made it out to a private acess lake today. We fished from 11-4:30. We had some problems getting set up, finding weeds, stringing rods, setting up the new shanty (first trip of the season). As soon as we got in the shanty, we had a HUGE school of Crappie, and big gills come through. Some of the gills and slabs were 11" easy. Of course, no one even had a rod rigged yet, and no fish were taken. We had other problems inculding wet feet from the slush, and dropping a brand new spud down the hole, never to be retrieved. I had a pike sucker on a perch pole just in case, and had 10 pike in the hole, only one of which took the bait, and spit the hook after 1 run. Cant wait till spearing season! Those curious pike are gonna get a nice suprise ;). We ended up catching 4 pike and 1 LM bass. The pike were 20",20", 27", 28". We kept the 2 bigger ones. Lots of cleaned hooks and false alarms.

We will be out early tomarrow with Stelmon along, but cant stay long.
