my sister lives up there now and i want to go up and visit her and her husband. if we could get out and ice fish the harbor that would be a bonus. anyone have any experience to share please do. i have only fished it once for salmon in august. so i have never seen it with ice on it. do they get many browns or steel in there through the ice? thanks for any help. P.B. :)

P.B I didn't see anyone fishing it last Feb. 1 but I only checked once over that weekend. I've heard a few mention some luck with the browns but that's from the "grapevine", use your own judgement. I do plan on fishing the harbor(or attempting to) on Fri. Feb. 4 '05. Good Luck if you go.

PB, Dont know whats happing in the HV Harbor, you may want to contact the guy's at Keerl's (http://www.keerlskorner.com/) to get the latest scoop. They're number is 989-724-6426.
There are tow posts on what happened to East Bay Ed. The shops a total loss but he's OK.

As far as fishing in NE area you might want to check with Bud or Lorie at Buck's Bait (www.bucksbait.com) just north of Alpena, about a half hour/45 minutes north of HV. Been some pretty good reports coming from both Grand and Long Lakes.
