I fished Hardy pond 12/23 a while, the ice where I was fishing seemed to be really good. We had 4 inches of good hard ice with about a inch or two of snow on it. I plan on fishing a different area today where I had some decent luck last year.
We caught 3 pike and 1 walleye today all under size and one nice perch, lost a couple other fish, one of which seemed to be a real nice fish but didn't see it before it broke my boys line.

Good Fishing and Happy Holidays to All

Tim

Tim,

You just made my holidays. Was going to drive up today and check the ice. Looks like I better bring some fishing gear with me. Did you fish any of the spots you told me about last year?

Thanks,

Bob

I fished 12/24 until noon and we caught 2 northern 30" , 2 walleye 17 and 18 inches a couple 10" perch. We caught 4 or 5 undersize walleye and 2 undersize pike also.
I don't fish gills on the pond at all, but I do know that they caught a lot of them out of there this past summer along the weed beds.

Fished today from 9pm to 4pm. Took home 19 perch(mostly 8-9"), 1 crappie, and 3 eyes about 18" each. Caught lots of smaller perch and eyes and one small northern. Everything came on minnows in 25 FOW by Big Bend Park.

Good Job Bob!
We ended up with 4 walleye between 15 and 21 inches and 1 northern 26". I seen you guys down there and was going to drive around and see how it was going, but didn't make it. How was the ice down there?
I generally start my fishing in the winter in the Big Bend area and work my way upstream as the winter progresses.

The ice was between 3" and 4" of hard black. It was the thickest in the shallows by the stumps. Most of the fish seemed to be suspended about a 1 1/2' off bottom.
