I'm in the market for a pair waders for lake fishing. In your opinion, what would you recommend and why. Oh yeah, I'm limited to $100. Thanks.

Look at the Hodgman line...good stuff.

Cabelas has them and their own brand that isn't that shabby either.

I have Hodgeman neoprene waders. They were a bit less expensive than comparable waders in some of the other brands. I have to get some breathables though. The bulk of the year I just wet wade because I am just too warm in the neoprenes. They are a life saver in late fall and winter though. They are pretty good for duck hunting too.

Thanks Crash & Amos for your replies. I'm leaning toward Hodgman and/or Cabelas. In fact, I was in a sports store today fully prepared to purchase a set of Hodgmans but they didn't have any in my size. I did learn that it's very important to try some on. The fit does vary between manufacturers. I am short legged or long waisted (not sure which) so as a result there seems to be extra leg material that bags. I know that becomes a problem the deeper one wades. The increased pressure seems to push every wrinkle into your leg. With neoprene being softer that may help.

Again, thanks for the heads-up.

Keep your rod tip up.
