I will be attempting to find sutitable ice monday near SANG. I will be sure to give a report monday night when i get home. Last year i missed the first ice blast by two weeks. I did see some great sized perch however and i'm excited about trying to spear this year. Good luck to all who pursue those yellow bellies this year. I look forward to hearing the reports as they flow in these next few weeks. God Bless Anchor Bay and lake St. Clair. :fish2:

Welcome to the site BT!!!!!
Should be ready to go any day now.... I think that I am going to give it a shot on Tue up towards fairhaven. Be carefull and use the spud on the way out. Make sure you have your ice picks too.
Not sure if the lake is going to be clear enough for spearing yet. Might have to fish them shallow....

Good luck....I drove around the bay yesterday and everything within sight of shore is like chocolate milk. There were a few guys on buckets on a canal at 22 and Jefferson, and a few more at the marina on M29 where the pedistrian bridge goes over the highway. My canal on Anchor Bay Drive was clear to 4 ft deep....but its fed directly from the North Channel. I would guess its gonna take at least till the end of the week for all that mud to clear on the bay side of my canal.....I'll watch for your posts and let you know if things clear up.

Gsepan and myself hit the bay Saturday morning. Ice was 1.5 to 2 inch and water was DIRTY!!!!!! Ended up in the marina for some slab gills. Fish where they’re for sure but again water clarity didn't cooperate. Picked up a dozen or so between the two of us and off the ice by 10:30am. Marina ice was thin, 1.5 at best. Should be better today I would think, maybe 2 to 3 inch. With the forecast over the next week everything should bust loose just in time for Xmas/New Years break. I'm off from the 30th until Jan. 4th so I'll be hunting all week for fish.
