Watch where you park at Bald Mountain Rec Area

I just got off the phone with the BMRA office. They told me that you must park in the designated lots or you can get a ticket from the DNR or the sherriff. Common practice in this area is to find an area where you can pull off the road safely, and park there. This is illegal. Miller Rd and Predmore Rds were the ones I asked about. They locked the gate at the only parking lot on E. Miller Rd. I asked about exceptions for handicapped hunters, and they said I would have to get a special permit from the law division. Guess what? the law division has a recording saying they are too busy to take your call.

Last night there were four cars parked along the road, and only one in a designated lot.

There are not any no parking signs anywhere in the area, except in front of locked gates. I don't know how anyone is supposed to know parking is illegal.

Ya, I saw a lot of cars in front of the gates and in the pulloffs when I checked in a deer there yesterday.

You must also have a State Parks Sticker. They got me on that once.
