jar o minnows

Has anyone tried minnows in a jar with a glow stick on a drop line . the minnows shadow is suposed to lure fish in?

I've tried a jar of minnows . the perch swam in bumped into the glass and swam away. I'm not sure its any better than having a flash lure down there.

Programs like that seem to work better in smaller body water. From what I've been told. I tried it on LSC never noticed it to help hold the fish or attract them either.
