Now that my hunting season is pretty much wrapped up, I'm planning on turning my attention to:
1. building a layout boat for layout hunting next year.
2. painting up diver duck decoys and touching up those puddle duck decoys that received some abuse this year.
3. Get back to working on my HO scale train layout.
4. Spending a lot more time with the family especially our new one that still hasn't arrived yet. (these are not listed in order of importance)
5. Enjoying some wild game dinners and reminisce on past hunts.
6. Work, work, work, work.
7. Wait (im)patiently for spring turkey season to arrive. :)
8. Over the summer I am going to build a new deer blind on my hunting property so that my children and wife can go hunting with me.
So what are your plans once hunting season becomes another page in your history book?

Hunting season is never over, well the minute it is I'm already planning next year.
There is always things to repair, new things to build, food plots to plan & seed to gather.
Then there's dogs to run & our two pups need work to get ready for the spring field trials & next years grouse camp.
This winter I have a bathroom remodel on the agenda.
When the weather breaks we have an addition to the pole barn, as I got approved for my kennel license by my township.
Add to that I will be hatching quail eggs starting probably in March which really insn't that far off.
Maybe I get a chance to go Ice fish or chase some bunnies.
On another note, still waiting for the baby ? Let us know how that turns out, you missed a good time at the pheasant hunt last saturday.
I saw your post that you wouldn't be there so I didn't bring your chair, We will get together one of these days & it will be in safe keeping.
Good luck with the new arrival.

I'm with drwink,... ML season is just about starting up here, and then there's the late season firearms for us private property owners who still have some tags left.
I'm READY,... and then there will always be another season just about ready to open up for SOMETHING!!

OH I can imagine I missed a fun time saturday. I think I burned a hole in the floor pacing back and forth from window to window wanting to go outside and go hunting on Saturday. I've been reading the post about a second pheasant hunt in the planning stages so I'm keeping posted to any new info. The baby has decided to stay inside a little while longer where its warm i guess. :) OK, I could have selected slightly different wording like Hunting Season Slows Down... or something along those lines rather than hunting season over. I agree that technically you could hunt year round... Hey quit giving me a hard time about this.
Since the busiest time for me is Jan-April 15th, my hunting season is "almost" wrapped up for this year. I still have another doe tag to use on my property, and that will give grandma a chance to visit with her new grandchild while mommy and daddy hunt. Ok, mommy might not be ready to get out and hunt right away.:)
My wife bought me an early christmas present, she bought the last 1/2 dozen more BF floater geese that Gander Mtn had in stock so that I can try to get out and goose hunt in the late season. Now if I can only find the time.
Wally-let me know if your planning on getting out for any late grouse up north and maybe we could take my lab and your dogs out on a late grouse hunt up in the Gladwin area etc..

Let us know when the baby is born & everything is under control.
If we don't get buried with snow I'd be up for that, if not a late season preserve hunt or something.
Best wishes to you, your wife & the baby

OVER???? Not quite but depressingly close. Nothing special for me. Get everything cleaned and put away. Winter league trap and skeet, get some reloading done, and get serious in the gym.

I have been reflecting on this often as the season is slowing down.
#1 on my list is spend some time with my wife doing things she enjoys.
The others in no order are. Clean up the hunting room knows the rest of the year as my wifes sun room
Burlap and paint some foam geese decoys.
pull and fix the motor of the jeep in the garage.
Pull the tree stands down and trim back the shooting lanes.
Do some small game hunting and trim alot more stand sights.
update my web page :)
lots more I just cant remember. Mostly what I have been thinking about though is GETTING READY FOR NEXT SEASON !!! :woohoo1:
