We finally had one of those days you hear about. Actually, two days.
Friday, 5 for 6 at the wreck and nothing over 4lbs. The lake had turned over and it was 47 degrees in 50'.
Saturday, we went out 7.5 miles, just past the nets. About half way between the wreck and the island, in 70 to 100'. We caught our first fish about 6, marked the spot and never left. We had only one pass in 2 days that we did not catch a fish on our mark. Ended up 17 for 19. A complete mixed bag with 20,18,16lb kings, a bunch of smaller kings, coho's lakers, pinks and steelhead. Yellowtail was hot all day down deep and 225 back on the dipsey. Dodgers worked and so did a mag screwball. We quit at 1.
Sunday was even better. The action started again at 6, then broke loose. We had 4 big kings on at once. Ended up catching 20+ fish, we lost count. Quit at 11 to swim after landing a 14lb king on full core with the screwball.
All that and we finished second in our club tournament. Our 10 biggest over 2 days wieghed 147lbs. The first place boat had 175lbs, a club record. They were fishing north of the harbor about 3 miles.
Fletch, if you read this, I could barely hear you out of Stoneport, then lost you when Paul and those guys were talking. Good luck next weekend.
