finally!, after 3 years of deer hunting the boy got his first deer ever!! it may only be a button buck but the cherry is gone!!! :lol:
i think he still has a perma grin going! i am one proud poppa :D

You cant underestimate that feeling when you kill your first deer and your father is there. Congrats "young buck" (he earned that one since his first was a button:lol: ). ANd a special Congrats to dad for showing the outdoors to our future

wow!! thanx alot guys. i was actually expecting someone to give me hell for letting him shot a button buck. but after 3 years of deer hunting that was the one that gave him opportunity.

Nice job! It is alsways special to be a part of someone's "first deer" story. When it is your son's (or daughter's I hope) first deer, I know nothing can come close! Congratulations. <----<<<

My first deer kill was a button buck as well.
What a feeling it is to make your first BIG game kill!
And you get some good tasting meat as well.
I'll bet "next time", can't come soon enough now :)

no it can't. he's tryin to get me to take him back to ohio for blackpowder after x-mas

Not from me you won't. That buck is as much a trophy as a B&C 10 point. The important thing is that your son is now hooked for life. As he gets more experience he will get more selective but years from now that BB will always have a special place in his memory. I know. My first deer was a BB taken with a bow in 1974. I too was able to share that experience with my dad. He passed away a few years back but the memory of that day is as vivid as if it were yesterday. Well done.
