Any Ideas how to mount my 10" laser to the front rack of my ATV. Or should I put a milk crate and drag it in my sled?

Aww, come on....you just wanted to show off pictures of your new machine. ;) LOL.
The IPI auger holder in Cabelas is nice.
The other one looks like you could go into bussiness drilling holes for folks all over the lake.
You could also make up some cradles from wood like what I have on the 3wheeler. I have a picture of it at home I can email when I get off work if you like.

I made a box with ends that stick up about 6" higher than the sides...base of the box is 12" wide by 36" long..approx. The long sides are about 10" high and the short ends are about 16" high. I notched the short ends on top - in the middle to fit the shaft of the auger, put eye bolts in the long sides to hook bungy cords over the top of the box/auger to hold down. The box gives me a place to put tip ups and marker sticks (it's divided in two the long way) without things getting tangled. Probably not a very good description, but there's a picture of my rig in my gallery that might help...

Ed, not sure how to go back into last years posts but we had some of our rides posted and I had a close up of my auger rack made from the rubber gun racks you can buy at Cabelas for $19.00..... You can see something similar but not raised to fit a 10inch auger if you look in my gallery

Hey ED!
Nice machine, I really like the way the front bumper seems to match the curves of the machine and the fact that it is metal and not plastic like mine. Look very good.

Thanx Sahdow The chains are nice but I just might be calling your 4wheel drive 4x4 to pull me in ;)
I couldn't wait to buy one so I went out and got the parts to make one. total cost $2.40
Well, it might not be pritty but it is secure and easy to get on and off. No drilling and all clamps are mounted with a rubber, wherever the metal came in contact with the metal racks. I also had time to mount a gps . I found a bracket my grage that fit perfect. It's adjustable and easy to see from the drivers seat. No holes drilled , I also had some super strong velcro

Look's like that will do the trick and love the price. I think I will make something to hold my auger this weekend, Still need to finish my sled was going to lay auger on the sled but I like the holder idea.

Looks like you just about have it tricked out Ed!!! One thing I haven't done to mine yet and want to is for those longer rides...your hands get cold sometimes...was thinking of installing the heated grips!!..........Now you need that metro pass ....great place to launch from and just a short hop over to Genos!!

I recommend getting a windshield for the cold rides - I picked up one from someone on this site pretty cheap, it flares out around the hand grips and keeps the fingers better protected. Also, if you don't have a face shield on the helmet, it helps with visiability when traveling through the abyss...

That was from me fishhfoote!! And Man do I miss that windshield!!! That was when I sold my Honda Recon and purchased my Foreman!! The Foreman has a plastic shield around the handlebars so you can not use a windshield!!.......You are right!! What a difference that makes!!....Up at Houghton when its -20degrees and your zipping along going out to or in from fishing, that windshield was a life saver!!

Hotwired So your saying I shouldn't attemp to make a windshield for say around $3.50
You should see the carbon monoxide detector I made for my shanty. It's a small cage hung at the top of the shanty  well lets just say hampster don't do well in the cold  and the year before the brids did well in the cold but kept flying away when I attempted to check the batteries.

ED, as Long as you bring that gas auger I will pull you to canada and back.
I was also thinking today of a way to mount my gps in a similar way and would like to see yours better. Nice job on mounting the auger.
btw I bet you can make that windshield for $2.99 ..lol
Someone mentioned the hot grips, I have those on my quad and love em' they almost get to hot when they are on the high setting and I asked Santa to bring me the thumb warmer too....lol lets see if I was good bad

Shadow, you might consider a RAM mount for your GPS. They are available at CABELAS. It has a rubber mount for your handlebars so the unit doesn't take so much vibration. I have one and love it. I also have one for my boat, bike and truck, so I can take the GPS with me where ever. Capnhook
