I have hunted snowshoes for years near Houghton Lake, and I was wondering if anyone knew of any areas that may be a little closer to Grand Rapids that still had them. I have thought of hunting near Big Rapids, but I'm not sure snowshoes come that far south. Anyone can email me at jason52379@yahoo.com or reply to this. Thanks.

I saw one near Luther - pushed it out of a swamp on a deer drive. Furthest south I've ever seen one.

Plan on going up around luther and tustin for more consistant action. Around Big Rapids here I find very very few. My brother and I normally only see one a year. There are decent numbers of cottontails but snoes are few and far between.

Haven't rabbit or hare hunted in quite a few years now, but we use to get a mixed bag starting in the Reed City area. We did most of our hunting either up around Cedarville in the UP or the numerous pine groves in the Kalkaska area.

I hunt around the Reed City and Chase area and have only seen one and that was 10 yrs ago. I could of taken it but never seen one around here before and thought I'd let it go. That was probablly the last time I hunted rabbits. Got a beagle this summer and I'm heading to that area tomorrow. Can't wait. I enjoy hunting rabbits and hearing a dog getting closer and closer and then bang, rabbit meat!
