I LOVE these. If your going to ice fish, these are great. Not good for hiking.

My two choices.
For glare ice and slushy conditions.
Ice Stalker's (http://www.rockyboots.com/products/winter/icestalker.html)
For snow only and walking/snowshoeing.
Sorel Glacier's (http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jhtml?id=0009082830255a&type=product&cmCat=smxprod&rid=0180101070502&cm_ven=smx_prod&cm_ite=DDI%20Link)

Those look like good boots. Do you know what the design name is @ Cabelas?
I poked around on their website but couldn't find where you grabbed that screen shot from.
Thanks,
Rich

It's hard to beat military surplus Mickey Mouse boots. There's a couple places around here that sell them; last I saw was new in the $50 range.
They're waterproof, warm (I just wear a pair of tube sox with them), and if you get water in them, you just dump them out and put the boot back on. Twenty minutes later your foot, while still wet, is as warm as before.
Boots in my size fit snug enough to wear without laces. That way I can kick them off if I should ever go through the ice. I wear mine to hunt rabbits, grouse, deer, etc. as well. They are not all that heavy and not as bulky as they look.

I prefer to wear a pac boot out on the ice but end up slipping on slippers or just wearing my socks once in the shanty.

These are called Neos. I think Chester Boot sells them. My niece and her husband were involved in the company for a while and I got these for Christmas a couple of years ago. They slip right over my hunting boots and they are super light. I wear a size 14/15 shoe and these fit great.

I have a pair Rocky "Stalker", they are warm and waterproof. They are kind of costly, so thats why i got them for christmas from my inlaws 2 years ago.

I currently have a good pair of Sorels...and a pair of Rocky snow Stalkers...whatever I use they have to be 100% waterproof especially up-north ..because I punch a lot of holes with the power auger and when pulling up you get swamped from the knees down!! I have gortex Bibs and boots

I like those new Rocky's with the flip down cleats. Those would be cool but expensive.
I wear Rocky Bear Claw II's most of the time but have a couple other alternatives.

I'd have to agree with Bucktail, The two pair of white Micket Mouse boots I've worn for the past 30 yrs or more have been great.

Cabelas, Glacier Point Pac Boots $79. Nylon tops- rubber bottoms- black or camo. They keep my feet warm on the coldest icefishing day, but not for hiking. Capnhook

Mickey Mouse boots here also.Up untill about 15 years ago I tried about every boot out there but my feet would still freeze.I know there are better boots out there today but I'm not going to spend the cash for a pair that might not work for me.

No matter which brand name you get , make sure you buy them two sizes larger than your shoe size.

I really like my Rocky's. They are not very comfortable for walking around in but they keep my feet nice and warm sitting on the ice which had always been a problem prior to getting these.

Bought a pair made by Hodgeman about 8 years ago: rated for -80 degrees. Seemed the best combination between warmth and walking comfort.

I think they are called the Trans Alaska III boot, or something like that. I think the real key to those boots are the MASSIVE amount of distance between the ice and the bottom of your foot.
I also know that if you can get your feet off the ice it REALLY helps when your out for a long day. I have a little piece of wood I rest my feet on.
Hold on to your socks when you find them, ..."they ain't cheap"!

Meijer's ran a sale both this year and last year on some thinsulate boots for about $20. I've used them for both ice-fishing and deer hunting and they seem to hold up pretty well and will keep your feet very warm. Well worth the price in my opinion even if they're for just knocking around in

I have a pair of Icemans and the Ice kings, Both are great but the Icemans are better for walking as they have a std. felt liner vs the Foam and massive liner of the ice Kings.
My two cents.
Tom
Kevin you can't go wrong on either.

Own a pair of Columbia's. They have rubber up to the ankle all the way around the boot. They work for me.
I picked up a pair of Lacrosse Ice kings last year. No more cold feet for me.

Mine are Lacrosse Ice Bowls. Awesome. For some reason they stick to bare ice. No need to wear cleats. I know, weird but true. Never had a cold toe one in them. But they are huge.

bolodunn,
couldn't agree more. Best $100 I've ever spent on boots!! Icemen are good too but a lot heavier.
