but it's been 15 years since I did it last. I have lost or misplaced all the stuff I had before. I know this question has many variables, but what should be the basic stuff needed to get back into the sport in terms of tackle?

Basic stuff needed, would be a Ice Rod or two, perhaps a tip-up if you plan to try for pike, a small selection of teardrop jigs, an Auger or spud to get thru the ice,

Here's a link to an Ice fishing combo from cabellas. It has everything you need to fish, with the execption of Auger or spud, and is 30.00 with a decent rod and reel. you can go cheaper...

Add a $10-15 spud and you're ready to go...As the ice thickens, a hand auger for around $35 or a laser auger for $45-50 will be necessary... ;)

Add in any children you may have, or a buddy-or-two and a few of your favorite beverages and you're on your way to a great time!

Get yourself a portable shanty. There are some inexpensive models available and you won't regret it when your warm and out of the wind.
