I bought a 28 gun safe this weekend and now my wife and I are discussing, I think I need to buy 3 more guns because I only have 25 guns in the safe and it looks incomplete with the three emopty slots. She thinks it looks fine with with only 25 guns, dosent this show a lack of balance and symetry? Living in the country the back hall guns, cheap shotgun, 22, old 06, cant count right? Since the empty slots are right in the front they would require more upscale guns, ya think?

Oh yes I totaly agree with you Plugger. I have never been a fan of odd numbers anyway, so at least 1 more gun is only right. I say, with x-mas coming there is no reason SHE should not buy you a new gun to get you started on your goal of filling those empty spaces.
You know what you need to do, decide to hunt a new animal that you have never hunted before. Everyone knows that you need a spiecal gun for each animal you hunt. ;)

You are currently in gross violation of gun safe propriety & etiquette, bordering on the uncouth. For the sake of, as you mentioned, symmetry, and to avoid the mental anguish of living in a continual state of gun safe imbalance, clearly action must be taken. Kudos to you for so quickly identifying the solution to your problem! Happy shopping! :D

Mike,
I'd say you were a bit short-sided only buying a 28 gun safe. What happens when you fill it up?
28 guns is a good start but are you really sure you can live with that number?

LMAO!!
Never needed a reason to expand my collection....so I say go for it! But then again, I would have bought a 48 gun safe!!!!
Actually, you need to buy another 28 gun safe to balance out the room......

There is always another base that needs to be covered (yes, I said "needs").
Do you have any of the following:
Mil-Surp rifles (M1 Garand, Mosin Nagant, Mauser, K31...)
Muzzleloader
EBR's (evil black rifle - AR, AK, G3...)
Each category can then be broken down into sub-categories based on caliber, year of production, barrel length, intended use, blah blah blah.
long story short, yes, you need three more long guns. You will always need three more guns.
Have fun and keep us posted.;) :D

Just go and get your new guns. When the wife notices the empty slots are gone just explain to her that guns are known to reproduce when shut in dark places. It is only natural and explain that neutering them would lower their resale value.

I totally agree with that. Just had the same discussion with my wife and she didnt understand either. I dont get why she needs a whole 10 x 12 in the barn for horse stuff. How many bridals and ropes do ya need. I was only asking for the 14 gun safe though plugger so you must have lots of toys. or maybe my wifes meaner. Just kidding
