I am reposting this as it was moved to the "law" area. WHAT I would really like to know is what people see out on the ice.
I need a little advice. I am thinking of buying an atv (for icefishing) and am concerned about the two rider law. I know it is against the law to ride two up, but for icefishing is the DNR a stickler on this? What I would like to do is buy one quad, haul my father, myself and our shanty out. I just do not want to get into trouble doing it. AND, I do not want the cost of a Rhino or Ranger either. Keep in mind, I am not trying to skirt the law, only trying to be practical. I guess, say on the bay or LSC, do people see the two rider thing going on very often? Thx in advance for your feedback.
Oh by the way, a fella at a dealership said the law applies to trail riding only, once the quad is on ice, that law is moot. Is this correct?
