Hi , new to this site , Just wondering as to what kind of jig, tear drop, swimming jigs, big jigs, flash lures, organization box or boxes do you use. How do you carry them? Where do you put them? All combined, or seperate compartments? Thanks

i use a single plano 3213 double sided and very small fits in a carhartt coat pocket if it dont fit in there i dont need to fish with it!! not water proof but im sure to air dry often or just not drop it in the snow. some old skoal tins for my waxies and a small bucket for minnies and im set nothing fancy but the vex and trap!! check out www.jammimjigs.com (http://www.jammimjigs.com/) for all your jigs he has a special going right now too. gets lots of glows for them night time crappie or gills and every color in between. and a good power flash to charge up the glow paint the right way sitting it next to the coleman lantern wont charge it full blast right away. good luck!! heres a link to a pic of my jig box http://www.planomolding.com/3213-09.htm

Thanks for the reply, I go with the 3380-1 gear bag . You can put 4 plano plastic boxes in them. I have one bag for walleye jigs and one for lake trout , then I carry a small double sided box for panfish in my Carhart. I do like the looks of that box you use though. I could put the ones that work and I have confidence in, in that box when jumpin from hole to hole, wouldn't have to go back to the sled then. Thanks again!

sounds like you guys have your stuff together, but heres what i do for all my fishing in general.

i dont have one giant tackle box. all my stuff is sort of organized by species into the flat plastic boxes that are about like 10" long.

bass lures
walleye/perch erie stuff
crankbaits
steelhead/trout spoons/jigs
ice fishing stuff (smaller boxes for jigs, 4"x6"?)
general all around stuff (weights, hooks, etc.)

then whatever kind of fishing im gonna do that day, i take a box or two and put it into my fishing backpack. then you can wear the backpack, it makes it a lot easier.

I use a little 2 sided box from plano. It won't fit in the pocket (OK maybe a big pocket). It has served me well for several years. Link below:

Plano 3516 (http://www.planomolding.com/3516-02.htm)

Since I'm starting to jig for eyes more and more, have been thinking about going with a fly box (as lurepaintr suggests) for the small jigs and a box that will hold a few more jiggin raps (without as many smaller compartments)

I'm with lurepaintr I like the ones made by Purrine #90 for the big stuff and the #60 small stuff . Nothing rubbing so your jigs stay in good shape. ;)

Sounds like a good product. Any suggestions where they can be found?

since i didn't have time to explain last night, let me now. That bag holds the 4 plano like boxes show above. Two fit inside, one straps to the back and one to the front. Its small, about the size of a minnow bucket and easliy fits in a bucket or around your arm. For 11 bucks, i think it was perfect.

This is what I use fishing for panfish and sometimes walleye if I'm not on a river. It fits in my coat pocket too. I don't remember where I bought it but it's a plano box number 3214/3414.

Here is a picture of my ice fishing tackle box, although I'm thinking of making another box that would separate my pike and walleye jigs and would also include other tackle like split shot, bobbers, beads, etc...

Plano 3213 (http://www.thornebros.com/winter/tackle_boxes/plano/3213_pocketpack.html) I have a Plano 3213, small two sided box, also use tins from altoids or something similar.

I use two plano 1070 boxes. The work the best for me. enough room to seperate jigs and sspoons by size and presentation.

I use a similar Plano box,, but I took magnetic tape and place it in the bottom of the compartments to keep the jigs in place. Its helped avoid a couple castrophes.

Yeah Scotty, every once in a while I stumble upon a not so useless idea. Couple of tips go with that though. Don't use the magnetic tape thats "rolled" up. It will NEVER stick. I found some 1/8",3M doubled-sided, sticky pads and cut them to size, then stuck them in the bottom, then the magnetic tape on top of that,, works like a charm.
