There is usually an outing as soon the lake gets safe ice...Last year's main outing was at Gino's. Where it will be this winter will depend on where the jumbos are being caught...Keep tabs with the "Outings" forum...

Some of us are looking to go out on January 22. I am hoping to take my son's Boy Scout troop out there to ice fish on that day so why not have an outing?

Steve, sounds like a great plan. Only drawback to doing it along with the scouts would be those that like the wobbly pops. As I recall from my scouting days ( not that long ago) that would be a No-No...

Yes it would be a no-no. I like to partake myself as well but will have to enjoy myself without that day at least as long as the scouts are there. We hope to borrow some shanties from some members and could sort of partition the scouts off to one area.

Good plan, I will offer my services to assist in any way possible, as long as I don't have to work. I can drill holes, assist with setups, ect.. Let me know what ya need. Always willing to assist the Scouts.

Steve, I didn't post on your other request, but I definetely plan on going to the LSC outing this year. I went to my first one last year and had a great time, it was really nice to meet alot of the guys from this site. I also have a second shanty that I would be happy to bring out. It is an Eskimo Traveler 2-man. I was once a scout myself and I think it is a great idea to take kids into the outdoors and show them things other than a TV and video games. Please let me know if you will need it when the time comes.
Also have lots of extra geare if you need it.
