I have a pair that are similar, they're called Korkers and I use them for wading at 6th street dam as well as ice fishing. They work great on the ice. Korkers Footgear (WWW.KORKERS.COM)

I have a pair that is very similar, but these will fit my larger boots. You were right on the price though.

Same idea, just a little cheaper. Only 49.95 at Cabelas, I got a pair last year, wouldn't go out on the ice without them now.

Boy Guys those all look pretty darn good, and I am sure that once you bite the bullet and fork out the $$$$$ you'll never leave home with out them.

I have a couple pairs of artic spurs ($10.00-$18.00) depending on where you buy them. I am very satisfied with then, and have know reason to change.

It appears from the pictures that the ones shown are better, but they are pricey.

I agree tin can...wow 65.00 for a pair of ice spike!! They look nice but the Arctic spurs have done me well!!

I have the Arctic Spurs also, but when walking with them, as your foot bends, you lose contact with the ice. I also have a bad back and this action would cause my foot to slip and the sudden jerking or twisting caused me more back pains. Since I got the Stablicers, I no longer have this problem.

I know what you mean FishTales, I actuallt had back surgery going on three years ago, turned me into a new person.

I still like the artic spurs, but you are right you have to be conciouse of how you walk.

I actually ran after my shanty one day in 15mph winds for about 35 yards, it eventually stopped when it hit a guys three wheeler (he was real nice about it), I never missed a beat with the spurs on.

Man, when you fish sixth street you either have good cleats that'll last a while or they fish your body out downstream :tdo12: (I got mine on clearance for 30 bucks anyway ;) )

I agree with live2fishdjs... I bought the Ice Stalkers at the end of the season 2 years ago for 50 bucks!!! I don't have to stop, put them on and take them off... Just a flip and I'm ready for the ice or the ride home.

OK guys STOP, I don't need to spend money on anything else.

You have me questioning my choice.

I've tried all kinds of ice cleats over the years and my number one criteria is: "Can you run in them??" (on the ice and through the snow).

It looks like the Icespiders don't have a closed toe or strap over the toe area - just one over the ball/instep area of your foot (and around the heel). Won't this dig into and catch snow?? I don't care for cleats with nylon straps as they tend to loosen up and you trip over them.

Nowadays I use Arctic Spurs (which go over the instep) and a pair of the cheap ice cleats with the RUBBER strap over the ball/toe area of my boot. I have a pair of Korkers (old style) that work great on rocky river bottoms also, but I tried them on the ice ONCE and only once (too heavy and they loosen in deep snow).

The "thin rubber slip over your toe and heel" kinds with the cleats inserted or the little "grates" didn't give me enough traction and tended to come off when running.

They keep coming out with new cleats and I'll probably buy and try most of them if they look like I can run through the snow on the ice with them.

I have no problem running (let the jokes begin guys-yes I often run while ice fishing) in the boots I posted a link for in my post above.

Matt,
If you need a rookie slammer fisherman to help run around with this winter feel free to holler! :fish: :fish:

I like the looks of the Icestalkers as far as insulation, but is that enough cleat for me?? I'll keep an eye out for a pair I can actually touch. My wife found a deal on these cleated Hodgman's for around $25 and I'll be giving them a try as soon as I hit the ice. They're a little lean on the insulation with no removable liner but are solid rubber rubber up to the top.
