Hi All,
Just got back into town from camp from last Monday. I hunt in Roscommen County out east 6 miles or so. I tell you what never seen so many does and her little ones. Did see a nice 4 pt and a 6 pt but could'nt get a shot. There must of been a bumper crop of fawns this year saw a lot of em. Talked to the local DNR up there and they said the hunting has been lousy. Alot of people poaching because of it.(night time on a bait pile) On opening day usually sounds like a war zone out there, Not this year, first shot I heard (that was close to where I was) was 9:00am. I think the weather being to warm has a lot to do with it. They don't have to move. Coming home tonight expected to see all the hunters packing deer, saw probably 5 vehicles with deer, not even the deer check stations were that busy. Well that is my account on the first week. We need some cooler weather to come in to get them moving. Good luck to all on thanks giving weeking.
