Is anyone interested in getting together and making some perch decoys? I have one done and three 75% done but I just got some redwood and cedar that I am going to rough out. I don't have a garage or workshop but I can get access most likely to a heated barn. Before I ask I need to know if there is any interest. We could have an all day event.

Ken,
Are you talking spearing decoys, or something else. I just recently took up wood carving, and spearing decoys was one of the things on my list.

Yes, that's what I'm talking about. I'll post a pick of what I'm trying to achieve decoy-wise. later tonight. I know that they don't take too long if you have the right tools and motivation.

Here is the one I finished this summer. I have 3 with the base coats and all they need is details.

Actually a knife never touched that piece of wood. I roughed it out on a band saw and then used a bow sander that I made and a couple of different rasps. I am going to try a drum rasp that goes on a drill press next. I did one from a square block with a drum sander on a drill pres but after 4 hours of sanding I had the shape but a fried motor.
Let me know if you want to meet up and do a couple Kevin.
