Hi Guys,

I was just wondering if someone has the address for Geno's? I'm not from the area and need it for directions. I have been hearing about the Perch fishing there through the ice for the last couple of years and I'm going to give it a try this winter. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have not heard if they will be allowing parking there this year or not. I suppose it depends on if they are open for bussiness or not. If htey don't allow us to park, we have Crocker rd launch just down the road about 1/2 mile. Its a longer walk out on the ice, but not too bad..

I guess we will have to wait and see if they open or not this year.

How rough is it getting out at Crocker? Is there a steep hill like Gino's?

Crocker is a boat launch, no hill.... The only bad thing is that last year the ice was FUBAR right at the base of the ramp from the trucks driving out.

Genos has remodeled this past summer and is trying to book some more gigs... I guess that if they start booking kack on every Sat and Sun, we won't be able to park there anymore. Have to wait and see.....

Last time I drove by the sign said something like "NEW SUNDAY BRUNCH SPECIALS" it's not looking too promising. Crocker may be really crowded this year!!

If you guys have machines just park at Metro. That is where I parked most of the year lats year mainly because I had a sticker though. It isnt that bad of a ride out.

With a machine, Metro or Crocker will be good. On foot...Crocker is closer, although admitidly, not by alot once you go out around the breakwall.

Almost the same distance. I went out of Metro last year when Crocker was all messed up with broken ice and water. Very similar distance from where I was fishing.

Will the dredging the past couple of months hurt or help the fishing at Crocker this year? I guess I'm talking about early ice, when anything beyond the break walls is unsafe. Didn't fish it last year, but two years ago, we'd take a dozen out of there most of the times we hit it. Wasn't hot, but you couldn't beat the parking and short walk.

Seems to me that Fairhaven is the place for 1st ice, or even Beacons Cove.

Also for anybody not local to this area, you should also warn them about the ice breaking off. This area is prone to problems due to wind direction.

Rule of thumb if the wind is blowing outward toward Canada and there have been any warm days I don't fish Gino's.

But the trick to Gino's is to figure out where the spillway water mixes with the lake water and fish just inside that. Also be aware there are always pressure cracks right where I am talking about so again it is not the safest area to fish.

I swear on my kids life though I saw a guy pull an 11lb walleye there back around 1998. He needed help to widen the hole.

Where they dredged you won't be fishing. It'll be a parking lot on the weekends.
